The Alchemist 3rd Blog Post

 (Michael):
So far in the book The Alchemist Santiago has been on his journey for his personal legend and he has learned to listen to his heart. This is a very important part in the book because it shows how Santiago has fully committed to finding his personal legend and that he is getting to know himself better in the process. At this point in the book Santiago has been learning a lot from the Alchemist and has been able to listen to his heart. My opinion on the book so far is that Santiago is a strong person and he is determined to reach his treasure. The part where he changed into the wind was an important part in the book to me because to me, it shows that anything is possible and that people can do whatever they set their minds too no matter how far fetched it may seem. At the end of the book when Santiago finds his treasure in the old church it was surprising to me because he had been in that church before and he was so close to his treasure without even knowing it.

What is your opinion of the text so far?
My opinion on the text so far is that the text is powerful and has a very deep meaning to it. The meaning is: to follow your dreams or your personal legend, and I think this is a very important topic to discuss because so many people give up on their dreams by forgetting how important it is to them and this book could help them get their priorities in order and do what they have always wanted to do.

How does the work connect to your life and/or events around you?
This book connects to my life and events around me in many ways. This book taught me that not everything in life is easy. You have to work for what you want in life. In this book Santiago was the main character and he had a dream to get to the Pyramids and find his treasure. Throughout the book he had some difficulty and he wanted to give up. He was convinced by other characters in the book never to give up and follow his personal legend. This book inspires me to keep up my hard work on my education on the problems I face and on basically everything. This book shows me or teaches me never to give up that am going to be put on difficulties but that I can make it through and reach the end no matter what happens. This book also has a part that I really liked a lot. The part where Santiago wants to become the wind and he talks to the desert, wind, sun, and they all tell Santiago that they can’t do that and then the sun tells him to talk to the one that made the world which is God. So then Santiago did a prayer but it wasn’t thanking god for anything nor begging him to make him the wind. Then Santiago actually got moved to another place in the dunes, and people thought he did turn into the wind. That part just tells me that God is with me everywhere at every time and he won't forget about me or anyone. So I can trust God.

Is the author successful in his/her writing?
I think the author is successful in his writing because he made the words to the book really simple but at the same very descriptive. This book was easy to understand there aren't hardly any hard words in the book. We recommend this book to a lot of people its an awesome book and it teaches good stuff. Plus Its very easy to comprehend and its not that long of a novel.
