The Alchemist

This boy named Santiago, which is a shepherd, starts out with a normal workday of a shepherd. He takes care of his sheep and then starts having dreams. In his dream he sees a little boy playing with his flock of sheep and then the little boy grabs his hand and tells him that he has a treasure to go find and discover. Santiago then goes to this lady that interprets dreams. The old lady tells him what he needs to do and in return she wants one tenth of his treasure when he finds it. Then later on this king talks to Santiago about his dream and his personal legend and treasure. The king wants one tenth of his sheep in return for directions to go find his treasure. Santiago gives the king his flock and the old king gives him stones named Urim and Thummim, which would help him find his omens. Santiago goes to Africa in this town named Tangier. He goes into a bar and meets this guy that tells him that he will help him get to Egypt and buy camels. Then on the way the man takes Santiago’s money and leaves him in the marketplace, so the next day Santiago goes to a crystal merchant and asks if he can work for money so he can buy some sheep and go back to being a shepherd.  After working there for a year he decides to pack his things and go back home, but the merchant leaves him in doubt. Santiago decides to just go the Egypt and find his treasure.
